A couple months ago Rachel contacted me about doing her engagement photos. Her & John are having a small ceremony on the 20th of this month but wanted to have an engagement session done so they could showcase the photos at the reception they are having with family and friends. After chatting with Rachel for awhile about their relationship and how they met, there was really no other option but to do a baseball themed engagement session. They met playing softball, and for the last couple years have worked at a local little league together. So of course we met up at the little league field and had such a fun time taking photos there!

Garrett + Amber {Lancaster, Ca Couples photographer}
Because I live in the same town I grew up in, sometimes when I show up to photo shoots I realize that I know one or more of the people I am there to photograph. Typically it's because of not recognizing married names, which was the case for this session. I walked up to the spot where I was going to meet up with Garrett & Amber, looked at Amber, and said "I know you!" It was so fun! She was a young girl last time I saw her, when I used to volunteer for a girl's ministry and their yearly summer camps. Now she is grown, beautiful, and married. It's always so wonderful for me to see things like this! I had a blast taking their photos, enjoy.

Chris & Amanda {Antelope Valley, Ca Family Photographer}
Back in June I had the honor of photographing this fun, loving, amazing couple's wedding. I was thrilled when they contacted me about doing their fall "family" pictures, where we would include their puppies in a few of the shots. It was a blast to see them again and catch up on how they are doing. Chris & Amanda are too much fun to be around!

Tim + Courtney: Engaged!! {Lancaster, Ca engagement photographer}
Although this was an engagement session, it was the first of it's kind for me... because the engagement happened during the session! And what made it more exciting was it was my baby brother proposing to his girlfriend of two years (who we love and are so excited is going to be a part of our family)!
Timmy (Ok yeah so he may be 25 but I will always call him Timmy...) came to me with his idea of how he wanted to propose, and of course I jumped on board. He wanted to do a "photo shoot" and then in the middle of the session he wanted to propose, so that the whole thing was captured on camera. We came up with a location and elaborate plan so that Courtney wouldn't think anything of it. We were going to go out to a spot in Lake Hughes that I photographed at before the fire, but haven't been to since it burned down. We were going to do a "tester" shoot to make sure that the area photographed nicely "before I took paying customers out there." Timmy brought the ring over the night before and we hid it in my camera bag, and decided that after a few pictures I would ask Timmy to "get me a new memory card" out of my bag, and he would grab the ring. Perfect plan, right?
I woke up the morning of feeling like crud. I have felt sick for a good portion of this pregnancy. I felt so badly that Dathan took the day off work and sent me back to bed. But I couldn't cancel/reschedule on Timmy, he was already nervous enough as it was. So I sent him a text saying "don't freak out, but I'm sick. I don't need to be hiking through the middle of nowhere, so what if we went to the location you shoot at to a practice shoot since I've never shot there?" Timmy is a photographer as well and showed me this awesome location and so the story worked perfectly and we had it all planned out. Poor Timmy was so nervous, I only took a couple photos before I "asked for my memory card" because I don't know if he could have handled it much longer ;)

Can you tell how nervous Timmy was? I sure can ;)

Courtney was SO surprised and in the above photos she was saying "Wait... is this for real??" :)

Of course she said YES!

The best part was, we were able to jump right in to a mini-engagement session... just minutes after they got engaged! What a great idea Timmy had!

Congrats to Timmy & Courtney! We are so excited for the wedding!!

Gregory + Candace: Engaged!! {Antelope Valley, Ca engagement photographer}
When Candace contacted me about photographing her wedding, I was SO excited! She is officially not only the first official booking for after I come back from maternity leave, but the first official wedding of 2014! Wow! Time goes by so quickly. We met for coffee with her fiance Gregory and I was thrilled to be working with such a sweet, creative, loving couple. Candace has to be the most organized bride I've ever worked with, who had boxes of props labeled and ready to go for our engagement session. I cannot wait for the wedding in June!

These notes they wrote to each other were secret... they didn't know what the other wrote until I posted the sneak peek on Facebook. I love this idea!

Charles & Ashlee {Lancaster, Ca couples photographer}
Awhile back I posted about photographing the beautiful Ashlee for a feature story and cover in a teen girl's magazine. I was able to capture her beauty again when she & her boyfriend wanted to do a special session for their one year dating anniversary. We had a great time and they were both extremely photogenic and fun to be around. As young professionals they also needed a few headshots, which we made sure to get during our session time.

Shawn & Ashley: Maternity Session {Antelope Valley, Ca Maternity Photographer}
I met with Shawn & Ashley on a gorgeous summer evening. The weather was practically perfect, and so was the adorable couple. Waiting to welcome their first child into the world, we had a blast photographing the two of them together. And can I just say that I don't know how this happens, but I somehow get blessed with having the most good looking clients! I mean really :)
